Revelation Starts With A Joke

Let's set the scene:

Characters :
-Larissa, lowly jean folder who spent her day correcting her hair color. [Hayley Williams orange to Brad Pitt dirty blonde.] She had spent an hour on skype with her two best friends and cousin. She missed them dearly. Larissa was very tired and everybody knows that when Larissa is overtired, she gets silly and gitty!

-Philip, an electrical worker, had just eaten a greasy meal from McDonalds and was feeling a little woozy from all the calories. Phil was also over-tired seeing as he had spent his morning at work. He also spent a large portion of his day wakeboarding with Larissa and her family.

Setting:
-Larissa's basement, approx. 10:30 pm. Phil and Larissa were chillin out and having a good laugh at eachother's expence. Larissa remembered a brilliant plan she had composed earlier that day. She then shared this idea with her part-time best friend, Phil. He conquered that this was an excellent scheeme, and thusly they began the joke.

SCENE:

Larissa: You know, you're a pretty funny guy, Phil.
Phil: Yeah, funny lookin'.
Both: HAHAAHAHAH!
Larissa: *yawn* I'm bored....OH! heheheheh! I forgot to mention this!
Phil: uhh..whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?
Larissa: Well, I was thinking.... how funny would it be if I sent a text message to a bunch of contacts, informing them that I had lost my phone and ask them to call me inorder to help me find it?!
Phil: That sounds pretty stupid...DO IT!
-Larissa picks up her phone and texts a select few the following message:
"Hey--I lost my phone. Can you call me?"
Larissa then sets her phone beside her and waits.-
Phone: *bzzzz* *bzzzzz* *bzzzz*
Larissa: *gasp* Haha as if!
Phone: *bzzzz*
Phil: What?!
Phone: *bzzzz* *bzzzzzzzzz*
Larissa: Josh is calling me! Hahaha! What a ninny!
Phone: *bzzzzzzz* *bzzzzz* *bzzzzzzzzzzzz*
Larissa: Oh, haha! Laura caught on!
Phone: *bzzzz* *bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz**bzzzz*
Larissa: AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAH! Hehehehhehehehee! Oh, bwahahahahhaahahahah! Oh my stars!
Phil: Hahah! Who else is calling?
Larissa: Holly, Joel, Mackenzie, Michelle *continues to list names*
-Phil picks up his phone while Larissa is laughing uncontrolably. He sends a similar text message to their mutual friend Holly. Moments pass as Larissa's phone continues to buzz incessantly.-
Phone: *bzzz* *bzzzz*
Larissa: Uh--Phil I think your phone is buzzin... Oh my gosh, I'm like, crying laughing!
Phil: Hello? Oh hahaha! Hey Holly! Ya, we both have our phones. No no, they weren't lost...we thought it'd be funny to...can you not hear her laughing? Ya, Larissa had a brilliant idea to trick a bunch of...hello? Holly? Haha! She hung up!
Larissa: I gotta make a facebook status about this!

*End of story*

When I first started thinking about my friends' reactions, I thought to myself "wow, I really need smarter friends. But then I started to think about it some more. My friends cared enough about my "seemingly" impossible search to find my phone that 10 of them called me--not once, but twice! What started off as a joke helped me conclude that I have amazing friends! If these people were worried enough about a lost phone, then I can't imagine their reaction to a "lost Larissa". I love my friends dearly, and every day I thank God for blessing me with their presence!
